Compliance, AML & Data Protection Officer - Netherlands and Belgium

We currently looking for an individual who will act as an advisor to the company to ensure compliance in all aspects of the business in role as Compliance, AML & Data Protection Officer Netherlands and Belgium where Hoist Finance operate through two branch establishments.

As Compliance, AML & Data Protection Officer you will be based at our Dutch office in Amsterdam, reporting to both Group Compliance sitting at the Head Office in Stockholm, Sweden and to the Country Manager for the Netherlands and Belgium. You will be covering the two markets independently but with a lot of interaction with the whole Compliance team spread out all over Europe – this is truly a chance to work in an international environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND WORK TASKS

Compliance supervision of all company activities and active engagement to ensure a strong compliance culture on all levels of the Company. The responsibilities and work task include the following:                                                                                                                   

  • Identify, assess, monitor and report compliance, AML and data protection risks
  • Prepare and submit local compliance reports to Group Compliance, incl. Head of Data Protection and the Group MLRO.
  • Performance of the annual local compliance risk assessment.
  • Establishment of the annual local compliance plan and execution thereof.
  • Establish and perform/administer staff training in compliance, AML and data protection related areas.
  • Perform compliance monitoring in accordance with the annual plan (e.g., execute sample reviews and write review reports) as part of the Compliance Monitoring Framework. Areas of review can include compliance, AML and data protection.
  • Administer the maintenance, update and distribution of internal governance documents, both group and local policies and instructions.
  • Monitoring relevant upcoming external laws and regulations and supporting the implementation.
  • Support the operations in ensuring compliance with current and forthcoming laws and regulations
  • Overseeing sanction and PEP screening, transaction monitoring and performing and documenting AML risk assessments.
  • Ensure compliance of the Company with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and other applicable data protection laws, including but not limited to work performed in relation to RoPA, PIA/DPIA, LIA, DPAs, data privacy notices, reporting and communication in relation to data breaches.
  • Support the first line in the work to answer and execute various GDPR requests.
  • Continuous reporting of data protection issues and risks including recommended mitigating actions
  • Handle engagement and relations with the with Data Protection Authority (the CNIL).
  • Attend internal and external training to maintain relevant data protection knowledge
  • Participate in Hoist Finance compliance initiatives such as conferences, seminars, surveys, projects etc.
  • Handle engagement and relations with the relevant authorities.

 

REQUIREMENTS

Education and experience:

  • A relevant academic background; preferably a Master Degree in Law from the Netherlands and/or Belgium, but depending on professional experience a degree in Finance or Business Administration can be relevant.
  • Previous experience in Compliance, AML and data protection.
  • Between 3-5 years of experience in the financial industry in the Netherlands and/or Belgium, debt collection experience is an advantage.
  • Fluent in Dutch and English is a requirement, French language skills an advantage.
  • Minimum 1 years of previous experience working with data protection, e.g. GDPR and E-Privacy Directive. Data protection certification – e.g. CIPP/E, CIPP/T - is meriting.
